Contributions to Kehila's Tzedakah Fund allow us to pool our donations so that we can have a greater effect than smaller individual donations might have.
A committee of volunteers researches organizations to ensure that our donations are being put to good use, and not to pay an undue percentage for an organization's administrative expenses or other ancillary purposes.
This fall the Tzedakah Fund contributed to the following non-profit organizations:
- Center for Immigration, www.cilpdc.org
- Alderman Foundation, www.peteraldermanfoundation.org
- Capital Area Food Bank, www.capitalareafoodbank.org
- MAZON, www.mazon.org
- Second Harvest, www.secondharvest.org
- Rabbis for Human Rights, www.rhr-na.org
- Jerusalem Peacemakers, www.jerusalempeacemakers.org
