Kehila Chadasha is a unique Jewish community — an inclusive, egalitarian, independent Havurah of about 100 families who come together for Jewish education, celebrations of holidays and simchas, and sharing the joys of being Jewish. Some of our most closely held values include:
We take shared responsibility for our communal life. We choose not to affiliate with any of the official Jewish movements (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist). We are trans-denominational and draw from the best of the various denominations, creating our own unique type of Judaism which we practice as a community. We most closely resemble a Reconstructionist, Havurah, or Renewal group, but are not wholly these, either. We also have a wide range of theologies and practices among our members.
